Friends

The Friends of Harlestone School (FOHS) are a group of parents that raise money for the school, particularly to make excursions affordable for parents, and also provide the children with some extra surprises that make being at Harlestone a more special experience.

Here are a few examples of past activities:

  • Book bags for the new Reception children...
  • Our annual Duck Race & Easter Egg hunt...
  • A Jubilee art day with a specially commissioned time capsule and tree planting...
  • A children's fashion show.....
  • A community ladies fashion show..
  • A leavers disco to celebrate our fantastic Year 6 pupils...
  • A Halloween themed film night....
  • Coach travel to a Christmas Pantomime....
  • Our annual Christmas raffle with bumper prizes...this was our biggest fundraiser that has contributed to the purchase of new i-pads for the school!

Our aims are to advance the education and wellbeing of the pupils of the school by providing or assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school (not normally provided by the Local Authority).

This includes:-

  • Promoting co-operation and communication between parents and teachers;
  • Studying and discussing matters of mutual interest relating to the education and welfare of pupils;
  • Engaging in activities which support and advance the education of the pupils attending the school, including fundraising and after school activities;
  • Considering applications for funds put to the PTA from parents, teachers, Pupil Council and groups within the Parent Forum.
